Former presidential candidate Mehdi Karubi was allowed out of house arrest for one evening last month to attend an event marking the death anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad at the home of former Tehran Mayor Gholam-Hossain Karbaschi. Karubi was given a microphone and spoke to the crowd to reassert his support for the Reformist movement. It wasn’t known who approved this brief break in his house arrest.
