A man who has not been named was arrested when he tried to drive his car through the middle of a security convoy carrying Singh to a session of the Non-Aligned Movement summit. News reports swiftly tabbed that as an assassination bid. But Jafari said there were no explosives or firearms in the car, although the man was carrying a “cold weapon,” a term used for a knife, cudgel or other weapon that does not use explosives. Jafari said the driver has insisted he was just in a hurry and wanted to get passed the convoy quickly.
