Reza Aslan (photo) is an Iranian-American religious scholar who has won plaudits for his biography of Jesus—as well as condemnations from critics suspicious of a Muslim writing about Jesus. Fox News anchor Lauren Green drew raspberries when she interviewed Aslan and asked, “Why would you write a book about the founder of Christianity?” Now Jon Stewart has had Aslan on his “Daily Show” and asked the very sane question. Aslan deadpanned, “This is my secret Muslim plan to destroy Christianity.”
