Jamming report buried

March 20, 2016

It was last August, more than six months ago, that Telecommunications Minister Mahmud Vaezi (photo) said the final report on the health effects of Iran’s radio and television jamming waves had been completed and submitted to the Supreme National Security Council.  But nothing has yet been released on what the report concluded were the health effects of the jammers. Vaezi said at the time, “The intensity of the jamming waves has dropped and the situation has improved.”  He said there is “no reason for concern.”  The Environmental Protection Organization earlier said the jamming led to increased risk of cancer.  The jammers are assumed to be run by the Pasdaran.
