The entire southeastern third of the country is suffering a severe drought, according to a government index. Tehran and many other provinces are suffering from a severe water shortage, but haven’t fallen into the worst category of “drought.” The seven provinces under drought conditions are all adjoining and constitute the southeastern third of Iran: Sistan va Baluchestan; Hormuzgan; Bushehr; Fars, Kerman, Yazd and Khorasan South provinces.
