Iranian media have given a lot of attention to a statement by Jens Stoltenberg (photo), the secretary general of NATO, who said NATO would not defend Israel if it gets into a war with Iran. That, however, is obvious, as Israel is not a member of NATO and NATO is no more committed to defending it than any other non-member.
