Iran’s new Army chief, Maj. Gen. Abdol-Rahim Musavi, proclaimed last Thursday that in another 25 years, or by 2042, Israel will no longer exist.

It was two years ago, on September 9, 2015, that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi proclaimed that Israel would no longer exist in another 25 years, or by 2040.

Gen. Musavi appears to be giving Israel another two years more of life than Khamenehi granted it.

In his speech two years ago, Khamenehi said, “I’d say [to Israelis] that they will not see [the end] of these next 25 years.”

That proclamation, which received worldwide attention, was made as part of a speech about the just-completed agreement with the Big Six powers on Iran’s nuclear program.

Some of the measures in the nuclear agreement do not expire for 25 years.  Noting that time frame, Khamenehi said some analysts said that period should allay Israel’s fears about a nuclear Iran for that long.

Khamenehi said, “God willing, there will be no such thing as a Zionist regime in 25 years.  Until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists.”

Now, General Musavi has given the Zionist state another two years to face the Islamic Republic’s withering rhetoric.
