“Today all spying and intelligence services of the enemies of Islam are acting in unison, and evidence indicates that Mossad, as the intelligence agency for the Zionists, has taken control of the CIA in the US and MI6 in Britain,” Iran’s state news agency quoted Major General Hassan Firuzabadi, the chairman of Iran’s Joint Staff, as saying last Friday.
Firuzabadi said the Western states are using all in their power to check the spiritual influence of Iran’s Islamic revolution in the Muslim world and to block its impact on the wave of Islamic and human awakening Iran has sent across the globe.
Iran’s revolution has dealt a serious blow to the world’s colonialist system and made the Zionists “see death before their eyes,” Firuzabadi said.
Firuzabadi also accused the United States of funding and training terrorists and using them as agents to sow insecurity in countries, such as Pakistan and Syria.
The Zionists plan to occupy all the Palestinian territories, establish a government, and take control of the world at the same time, he said.
Firuzabadi called for a “wise, clever and strong” approach against “a united and dangerous enemy that enjoys all the money, facilities and technologies of the world.”
The assertion that Israel pulls all the strings in the United States is not a new one. In 2000, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi devoted an entire speech to this theme. Some thought he might be portraying the United States as a victim rather a criminal state in order to open the political doors within Iran to talks and compromise with Washington. But, if so, nothing happened, and Khamenehi has not continued his portrayal of Israel as the puppet master.
