Iran has a woman as it chief weather forecaster. In the United States, it is common for attractive women to be hired as “weather girls” on television stations. Iran has gone one better, naming Sahar Tajbakhsh (photo), a chador-clad professional, as the new director of the Iran Meteorological Organization. She holds a doctorate in meteorology and has 20 years of experience in the IMO, most recently as one of its deputy directors.
