The Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported last week that Iranians are now the largest nationality found on the illegal boats with almost 50 percent of all the boat people coming from Iran in 2011. The year before, Iranians constituted 36 percent of the boat people and, in 2009, they were just 6 percent.
