Iranian graphic designer Mehdi Saeedi has garnered a top award at the annual poster competition run by Graphis, the American International Journal of Visual Communications.
Saeedi was honored with a gold award for his poster in the Professional Services Category of the contest.
The artist designed the poster for the Mexican educational institution Centro de Diseno. The poster addressed the problems of child labor.
Some 100 works were named winners of this year’s Graphis competition and took gold and platinum awards. The winning creations are to be published in a book.
The works were required to focus on the themes of child labor, pain, slavery, exploitation, hunger and grief.
Launched in 1944, Graphis each year invites submissions from professionals across the communities of photography, illustration and graphic design.
