Former President Donald J. Trump says that when he was president the Islamic Republic never dared attack another country, like it just did to Israel, seemingly forgetting that when he was president the regime fired 16 missiles at American troops on a base in Iraq. On April 13, the day before Israel was attacked, Trump said, “If I were the president, Iran would not have threatened to attack Israel.
When I was president, Iran never attacked and was not in a position to do so.” Actually, however, when Trump was president and sent a drone to kill Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleymani in Baghdad, the Islamic Republic responded by firing 16 missiles at the Ain al-Asad base in Iraq that was occupied by more than a thousand American troops, injuring more than 100.
Trump went on April 13 to say, “The United States is in a very dangerous period and the reason is that it has an incompetent president.” Trump said, “We have a president who … does not know what he is doing is wrong, and we … may enter a world war.”
