Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says Iran has only 3,000 to 4,000 centrifuges working, the Tasnim news agency has reported. This is the first time Iran has reported any number. The nuclear agreement with the Big Six allows Iran to spin 6,104 centrifuges, so Larijani’s figures were a surprise. He did not explain why the number was so low, but it is probably because Iran cannot use all the uranium it had been enriching.
