Iran now makes rail road tracks

October 05, 2018

The Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) says the first rail tracks made in Iran have been handed over to Iran’s Railways, saying the rails are on par with the latest global standards.
The consignment contained 500 tons of U33 rail tracks, which are produced according to the latest global standards, including engineering standards EN13674, the firm said.
A French railroad company has been observing the whole process of the production and tested the quality of the rails, it said.
The director general of the Esfahan Railways organization, Reza Sadat-Hossaini, said that the first delivery is promising news that Iran can meet its domestic needs for rails in the near future.
