Iran says it is supplying 40 countries with engineering and technical services worth $3.2 billion in the fields of water and power alone.

Announcing this, Esmaeil Mahsouli, deputy energy minister for international affairs, said Iranian energy firms are currently implementing projects in 18 countries—Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Afghanistan, Algeria, UAE, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkmen-istan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Kenya, Lebanon and Nigeria.

“The Iranian entities have undertaken 59 water and power projects overseas, of which 13 projects valued at $1.4 billion have gone on stream,” he said.

Mahsouli noted that Iranian experts have accomplished a number of projects, including the Oma Oya Dam and Power Plant in Sri Lanka, Anzob Tunnel as well as Sangtoudeh Dam and Power Plant in Tajikistan, Sadr Power Plant in Iraq, Jandar Power Plant in Syria and Megri Power Plant in Armenia.

“Iran’s Energy Ministry is negotiating with foreign customers to launch 88 new projects,” he said, painting an idyllic picture of great economic success and progress.
