Speaking to a gathering of contestants at the 29th international Qoran recitation competition in Mashhad, Khamenehi said Muslims were in dire need of the Qoran’s teachings and that memorization of the Qoran is an introduction to understanding and a way to master the lessons of the divine book.
Khamenehi said that international bodies, which he did not name, have acknowledged that the Islamic Republic is progressing at a speed 11 times the average world index. It wasn’t clear what he was talking about and the Iran Times has seen no such “speed” index.
Khamenehi warned all Muslims to beware of offers of reconciliation being proffered by enemies in the West,
He said the Iranian nation takes honor by hoisting of the flag of the Qoran and Islam before a materialistic world.
“The Iranian people feel pride in braving any hardships and patience so that the flag of the Qoran becomes more illuminating day-by-day,” Khamenehi said.
The Supreme Leader said the dignity of the nation of Iran is a fruit of the Qoran’s teachings, adding that the clear example of Iran has taught Muslim peoples all around the world that any Muslim nation may prevail over the most complex military equipment and conspiracies of enemies through faith in God and perseverance in the path of God while not trusting the enemies’ gestures of reconciliation.
He warned the peoples of the region that the US and Zionists are conspiring against Islamic movements, adding, however, that if Muslims stick to their figurative guns, the foreign conspiracies will end in failure.
