Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi says Iran’s Armed Forces are the only military organizations in the world to be “effective” and that is because they are endowed with spiritual motivations.
Khamenehi said some armies in the world have been established only for protecting ruling regimes.
“Such armies apparently enjoy high operational and military might, but on the battlefield they indulge only in militarism, irrationality and ruthlessness,” Khamenehi told a group of senior military commanders in Tehran Sunday, PressTV reported.
Khamenehi noted that Saudi Arabia’s Army has failed to realize its objectives more than a year after it invaded Yemen in full force. He did not mention that the Islamic Republic’s armed forces failed to achieve their objectives in eight years of war with Iraq.
He said the armed forces of the Islamic Republic are the only ones in the world that are “efficient” and “ideologically-driven” and that operate with “political independence.”
He said the Iranian Armed Forces are required to enhance their “military might” along with “spiritual and religious motivations.”
Khamenehi said that in Iran, “The Armed Forces are not at the disposal of a specific person or specific party and faction, but belong to the whole people and country and must be a bulwark for the public and the protector of national and public security.”
