The United States and Iran were drawn in the same group for the World Basketball Championships to be played next August and September in Turkey. The 24 teams were divided into four groups of six teams each. Only the bottom two teams in each group are eliminated, so Iran and the USA can both advance. The other teams in the group are Croatia, Brazil, Tunisia and Slovenia.
