“Like Someone in Love” was shot in Japan with a mostly Japanese cast. The film is about a student who works as a prostitute. The film is the second by Kiarostami, now 71, since he left Iran and set up shop in Paris. His is one of 22 films picked to compete for the top award, the Palme d’Or. Kiarostami won the Palme d’Or once before, in 1997 for his film “Taste of Cherry.”
