One of the first things Ashraf Ghani (photo) did last week after he was inaugurated as Afghanistan’s president was to sign an agreement with the United States providing for US troops to stay in Afghanistan. One of the next things he did, according to the Mehr news agency, was call President Rohani to assure him that the agreement would not harm Iran in any way.
