As they do each year, Air Force officers appeared this week before the Supreme Leader (above) to salute and pledge their support—and reproduce the iconic photo from 1979 (below) that showed military support for Ayatollah Khomeini (not visible standing in the window at the far end of the room in the lower photo). It was one of the 
final nails in the coffin of the old regime.
