Tehran had one of its hottest summers ever this year, with the daily high temperature standing at 90 degrees Fahrenheit or above for 121 days straight, from May 28 through September 25.
That’s one-third of every day in 2021.
The daily highs are now falling rapidly, with the high on October 9 just 69 degrees, the first day the temp fell below 80 since the spring.
The highest high on any day this year was 106 degrees on July 6 and 7.
July was the killer month with 17 of the 31 days at 100 or more.
And the total rainfall over that 121-day hot spell was nil. The last time it rained in Tehran was May 25.
