It was back in June 2016 that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenehi talked about the Republican presidential candidates eagerly threatening to tear up the nuclear deal if elected. He said, “Well, if they tear it up, we will set it on fire. We do not wish to violate it. But if they violate it, we will violate it as well.” It has now been almost nine months since President Trump announced his withdrawal from the nuclear deal. Khamenehi is setting nothing afire.
