A new Pasdar display designed to educate the populace on the vicissitudes of hell has opened in Gilan province to something less than an enthusiastic reception.
Iran International says the display has prompted widespread ridicule and criticism.
From photos and videos posted on social media, the display looks very much like the Halloween haunted showpieces that have become quite common in the United States in recent Octobers.
There are actors dressed in macabre costumes groaning and writhing as visitors walk by on a raised walkway.
The walkway crosses over innumerable flaming pots, so that the visitors get a taste—and a feel—of the searing heat in hell they will be subject to if they end up there.
The display is oddly titled “Heaven Time.”
One visitor who was unimpressed wrote on X, “There wasn’t a single unveiled woman in the hell that you built at so much cost. All these years, you said unveiled women would go to hell, but none is to be seen there now that you have built this display of hell.”
The display was built on a Pasdar base in Fuman.
