Haddadi is playing in many more games this year, but he is still just getting a few minutes in each appearance.
Haddadi came back to the United States in December to play with the Grizzlies. But he couldn’t do anything without a work permit. As a result, he missed the first 16 games of the season in December and January.
In the 20 games since then, he has seen playing time in 14 games or 70 percent. That is almost double his rate of appearance in the previous two seasons in which he played in only 41 percent of the games.
However, in those games where he does play, he is seeing an average of just 5.8 minutes playing time—24 seconds more than last year and 54 seconds less than two seasons ago.
Haddadi has said he likes playing for the Grizzlies, but he isn’t happy to see so little playing time. While he is seeing almost twice as much total playing time this year, that still is very little.
