Described at the Sundance Film Festival as “a remarkable portrait of modern political rebellion,” “The Green Wave” couples animation and live-action footage with posts and testimonials from Iranian bloggers in 2009.
The film follows the experiences of two fictional “students” as it portrays the consequences of the post-election uprisings. The 40-minutes of animation supplements limited footage of those events.
Currently living in Germany, Ahadi, will be present to answer questions at both Filmfest DC screenings of “The Green Wave,” on Friday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 16, at 8:15 p.m. The film is being shown at the Landmark E Street Cinema.
“The Green Wave” is part of the festival’s “Justice Matters” series, which for the second year will aim to raise awareness of social justice and humanitarian issues across the world through film.
