Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif (photo) made a tour last week of the Persian Gulf, visiting Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates trying to patch up relations. He said he hoped he would soon be allowed to visit Saudi Arabia. He said nothing about Bahrain, where the Shiite majority is in open rebellion against the Sunni ruling family.
