Yleem Poblete, a prominent Republican hawk on Iran who is closely associated with National Security Adviser John Bolton, has quit her post as assistant secretary of state for arms control, reportedly because her boss, Under Secretary of State Andrea Thompson, who previously worked for Vice President Mike Pence, objected that a report Poblete had drafted was not balanced and painted Iran in the darkest light possible.
