he New York Times says that CIA Director Gina Haspel (photo) correctly predicted how the Islamic Republic would respond if the United States assassinated Qods Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleymani. The Times said Haspel told President Trump Soleymani presented a greater threat to the US than would be presented by Iran’s response if he were killed. She said the most likely Iranian response would be strikes at Iraqi military bases hosting US troops.
