ECONOMIC – The World Bank has revised its projection for the Iranian economy this year upward from an anemic growth rate of 1.6 percent to a not-quite-so anemic 2.2 percent. It also revised its estimate for last year from a contraction to positive growth, going from its 2020 estimate of -3.7 percent to positive growth of 1.7 percent, a huge shift of 5.4 per-centage points. The growth projection for next year was increased from 1.7 percent to 2.2 percent. The table shows the latest figures on GDP growth given by the International Mone-tary Fund as well as the World Bank.
