The Oil Ministry says that with the expansion of gas connection projects, 97 percent of Iranians will have access to natural gas. The projects will bring another 3 million households into the national grid. The ministry said most of the projects are in the southeast where the gas pipeline originally intended to send gas to Pakistan has been laid down. The announcement didn’t make clear if there would be any gas available for Pakistan, if it should eventually go ahead with the project, once so many Iranian households get access to the pipeline.
