Movie theaters were packed all across Iran last Thursday as cinema houses didn’t charge for tickets that day. Long lines snaked around the theaters as people who hadn’t attended a movie in years decided to take advantage of the free offer, intended to promote movie-going. Many cinemas opened early in the morning and showed films until late at night.
