Culture Minister Mohammad Hossaini says Farsi satellite channels based abroad exist to try to promote a decadent Western lifestyle and to undermine Islam. “The main objective of our enemies in establishing Persian-language satellite networks is …to promote the Western lifestyle, divert youth from the right path and impose Western ideas and beliefs on people,” the minister was quoted by the state news agency as saying.
“Under the present circumstances, it is necessary to outline more cultural and artistic activities in conformity with Islamic and Iranian culture for the younger generation to keep them from being diverted,” Hossaini said.
He charged that Iran’s enemies are concentrating their efforts on insinuating their ideas, beliefs and convictions into different countries.
“To reach their filthy goals, they spare no effort,” he said, adding that Hollywood produces movies in order to portray a violent image of Iranians. He called on Iranian filmmakers to counter that strategy.
“We are currently engaged in an unequal soft war battle. Our enemies develop a new method every day to advance their actions against the Islamic Republic,” he said.
