Omid (photo), the lone Siberian crane migrating annually between Siberia and Iran, has not yet shown up in Iran. Officials are not jumping to conclusions. In the past 15 years, Omid has not come to Iran in two winters. Conditions are warmer than normal this year, leading some to believe Omid stopped farther north or didn’t bother to fly south at all.
