Pakistani Police Officer Imam Bakhsh announced the three deaths and said two others were injured. Bakhsh said there were 20 to 25 people on the fishing trawler Al-Mariam. He said they were fishing illegally. He said the boat was captured and the fishermen were now in Iranian custody. Bakhsh said a second vessel also engaged in illegal fishing was fired on but managed to outrun the Iranian police.
