Starting the US deployment of a defense against potential Iranian missiles, the US Navy will next week send the USS Monterey to the Mediterranean equipped with a radar system designed to detect and track Iranian missile launches. The full system is to take several years to deploy and will include missile interceptors in Poland and Romania by 2018.
