Before the Afghan government fell to the Taliban, Iran was that country’s top trading partner. Now Iran ranks only fifth. Alireza Khamehzar, head of the Khorasan South Chamber of Commerce, says that’s primarily because Iran is no longer buying many agricultural products from Afghanistan.
