A female pro-reform journalist has been sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison for her social media postings, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported December 1.
Hengameh Shahidi, 43, has been in jail since June when she was arrested for her activity on social media.
Her sentence was 12 years and nine months, a huge sentence.
The outspoken journalist earlier served many short prison terms since she became active during the protests over the 2009 presidential ballot that led to the re-election of Mahmud Ahmadi-nejad.
