Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel (photo), a former Majlis speaker who heads the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, says the spread of Farsi around the world has made Iran a global power. He said there is a relationship between the influence of a country and the range of its language. He said Persian extends beyond Iran’s border and has been the language of science and literature in many parts of Asia from the Indian subcontinent to Central Asia, China and Mesopotamia.
