The English language website of the Fars news agency has been knocked off the Internet by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the body that enforces sanctions. Fars said it had received notification from its server company informing it of what had happened. Fars in Farsi is still available on its .ir domain, but the English version was a .com domain.
