The latest film directed by Asghar Farhadi (photo), “The Past,” are among the five nominees for the Golden Globe award for best foreign language film. The Golden Globes come out before the Oscars and often foretell how the Oscars will go. “The Past” is Iran’s nominee for the Oscars although it was filmed in Paris in French and only one of its three principle roles is played by an Iranian actor. Farhadi won both the Golden Globe and the Oscar last year for his film “A Separation.”
