The Asian Football Confederation has dismissed the appeal of the Persepolis soccer team against the suspension of Issa Alekasir for pointing to his eyes (photo) after scoring a goal against Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor in October. The gesture was interpreted as racist. Alekasir says he makes that gesture after every goal as a signal to his nephew, who is known for his small eyes. Alekasir will be suspended from all games, domestic and international, for six months and be fined $10,000.
