Tehran’s Esteghlal soccer team has made it into the semifinals of the Asian Champions League. That involves home-and-away matches against FC Seoul to determine if it will reach the finals against either Guangzhou Evergrande of China or Kashiwa Reysol of Japan. Last week, Esteghlal lost to Seoul 2-0 in Korea. It was due to play the second match this Wednesday in Tehran after the Iran Times went to press.
