Sahar Sarshar (photo), 36, an Iranian-American documentary film producer, has won the 2016 News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Feature Story in a News Magazine. Sarshar used to work for Voice of America but has joined China Central Television (CCTV) where she produced the 18-minute award-winning film, “Jen Bricker: When ‘Can’t’ is a Four-Letter Word.” Her film beat out entries from CBS’ 60 Minutes, Dateline NBC and ESPN’s E:60. The film is about a young woman who had no legs but has become an accomplished aerialist and acrobat.
