The one nomination to go to an Iranian in Iran was to Majid Majidi for “Children of Heaven,” nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 1999.
The Iranian submission to the academy for the Best Foreign Language Film this year did not make the cut this year. The nominations went to films from Mexico, Greece, Denmark, Canada and Algeria.
