Dominating trade

The spokesman for the Afghan Chamber of Commerce last week reported that Iran is now Afghanistan’s dominant trading partner—but it’s mostly a one-way trade.  He said with $1.8 billion in total trade, Afghans are importing 80 percent of that from Iran and selling only 20 percent of that to Iran.  He said Afghans had turned to Iranian goods mainly because of irritation with Pakistani interventions in their country.
