Most were jailed for trying to smuggle US goods to Iran. But the opposite side of the coin is that Iran is one of eight countries that refuses to take back its nationals who have been ordered deported from the United States for crimes ranging up to and including murder. The others are China, India, Laos, Vietnam, Eritrea, Jamaica and Ethiopia.
