Bad news for skiers. Winter started last week but the Dizin ski slopes above Tehran were coated in grass, not snow. Dizin normally opens in late October, but the resort is still closed. It lacks the snow machines that are common at ski slopes in Europe and North America. The unusual condition of winter arriving with green slopes at Dizin is generally blamed on climate change, which, if true, means the resort is likely in trouble for many years to come.
