Deputy says Pres big hit with 9-11

an independent UN probe of what happened in New York on  Sept. 11, 2001, has been “a success.”

Deputy Bizhan Nobaveh Vatan, one of the 30 deputies elected from Tehran, said, “Ahmadi-nejad’s policy on the September 11 event has been a success.”  He did not explain how he judged it to be a successful, when the United Nations, the United States and most of the rest of the world have ignored the proposal.

Vatan referred to a few of the popular conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks.  For example, he said the United States “has failed to clarify many questions, such as the absence of 3,000 Jewish employees in the Twin Towers on September 11.”  The usual number used is actually 4,000.  But of the 1,700 dead for whom a religion is known, about 10 percent were Jewish, which pokes holes in the assertion that Jews were absent that day.

Vatan also repeated that 85 percept of Americans have told pollsters they doubt that Osama bin Laden was behind the destruction.  While polls do show a large minority of Americans questioning what happened, no poll shows 85 percent.

Furthermore, Osama bin Laden himself boasted of having organized the destruction of the Twin Towers in a statement he issued October 30, 2004.

Vatan went on to assert that Washington orchestrated the burning of copies of the Qoran on the ninth anniversary of 9-11.  “The US government was behind the Qoran burning,” he said, “but the move was one of Washington’s worst-failed propaganda efforts.”   He did not explain how the United States would benefit from the burning of Qorans or why it would want to see that done.
