A bus carrying 12th grade schoolgirls from Kerman back from an event barreled off the highway and overturned February 8, killing four of the students and two others on the bus and injuring 27. The crash has become a national scandal.
Police say the brakes failed, causing the crash. They also say the bus passed a safety check just four weeks before the crash. The police say they have arrested six people, including the bus driver, the head of the bus inspection agency and the principal of the school.
